Titel: Loud fan
Indlæg af: LucyandJean efter Nov 12, 2023, 03:39
Hello all,

We have a NBE RTB 30 boiler. We just restarted it for the winter, and realized that the fan is much louder than last year. Is there anything I can fix to make it turn smoother?

Thank you!

Yes, and it's quite simple. You can buy a new fan, it's not terribly expensive, but you can also change the bearings.

It is a little more technical to change bearings, which requires a few tools, but it is a cheap operation, it takes 10-15 minutes if you have tried it before.
Before twisting it all the way, be aware that the nut has a left-hand thread.

You can lubricate with a little oil, but this is a short-term solution, as it worsens the situation rather quickly, but a few days until spare parts arrive can be fine.

Thank you for the answer!

Does the boiler send an error message when the fan needs to be replaced. The fan is louder than before, but the boiler is working fine. I don't really want to replace the fan if I don't need to.

Thanks!

No, there is no alarm, but it can be seen on the graph for oxygen if you get to know your system. a noisy fan can be annoying, and it will probably stop working completely at an inconvenient time.
