Hi everybody,
This is a follow-up to my "unusual power consumption" thread. I'm really out of my depth now, and would greatly value the forum's help. Apologies for (living in DK and) not speaking Danish - please feel free to post in Danish, I can read it just fine.
Here's my problem: My controller (v7 - I have a 2016 RTB with LAN and the small screen) keeps freezing. To be specific: All connectivity (internet/LAN) drops (triggering an email from the cloud "Styringen har mistet netforbindelsen"), the screen is blank/flickers every now and then, and the controller does not do anything (it certainly does not produce hot water when the temperature is below the delta). Communication with the extension board drops, too (red light). The entire unit consumes roughly 18W when in this state (probably due to the O2 probe still being heated etc.). Switching power off and on does not help; the only thing that gets the system out of the "freeze" state (which I equate to Windows' blue screen of death) is a reset, performed by pushing the main controller's reset button for 10 secs.
Following the reset, I update to current FW (667), change the system language and (from screenshots taken from the cloud after the first freeze) provide my current system parameters to the controller. The controller then works fine - until the next freeze, which occurs (apparently randomly) between some 5 and 24 hours after reset and independently from whether the system had operated (i.e., produced hot water) during that period or not.
I'm in contact with NBE on this. They advised that they don't think the "unusual power consumption" warning has anything to do with this issue. Their initial thought was that the main board has a malfunction. So I swapped that. Same freezing issues. I then physically disconnected the extension board (power, comms, I even removed the cables to the O2 probe). Same freezing issues. I changed the LAN over power converter in the pillefyr room - no difference. I used a different SW version (665) - no difference. As advised in the "unusual power consumption" thread, I checked the ground cable at the door (not sure which other ground cables to check) - no difference.
At the moment, I'm running the system with both the screen and the keypad next to the screen disconnected. I just started this, so I have no clue if that will solve things. I'm still receiving "unusual power consumption" event log entries after having swapped the main board (just now after having set "extension board connected" to "YES").
Can you guys please help me out - what could possibly cause the NBE hardware/software to freeze like this? I'm happy to try disconnecting a few cables, but apart from the fact that the values I'm getting all make sense, and I can see no unusual changes in the cloud graphs immediately prior to the freezing, I don't really know where to start, and there are not all that many cables that could be removed without rendering the system inop (but I could still do that and see if the freezing persists while not operating the boiler).
Thanks in advance - I'm getting a bit desperate by now.
