Woody Controller V6: Alarm: Low Boiler
« Dato: Jan 22, 2022, 09:27 »
Hi from germany,

I have a Scotte/Woody V6 boiler which is doing well for 7 years already.
Since a week I get an alarm: low boiler after exactly 2 hours of firing
When I reset the alarm, the boiler starts again and 2 hours later... "low boiler"

I already changed the boiler-sensor, but the error is still here.
Is there maybe a defect on the circuit board of the controller? A capacitor maybe?

Thanks for your help
Wolfgang

There may be several things wrong.

Start by finding out how far the wood pellets will go, weigh the pellets for 360 seconds and see if it matches what has been entered in the auto-calculator.

If the external auger gives what it should, you have to look at whether the pillets are driven into the combustion, or they accumulate in the burner.

For both auger motors there is a capacitor that provides tracktion, and the bearings in the motors can also be worn.

In menu boiler, or in menu 11 depending on the version, there is a temperature setting for the lowest boiler temperature.
If it is not above that setting for a while, the fire will go out.
Maybe that setting is set too low so you can not get started.    :)

Thanks for your help, but the minimum-Temperatur of the boiler is set to 20 degrees already.
And the problems started only a week ago.
As the alarm is set almost exaclty after 2 hours of burning I think it might be a problem on the circuit board of the Scotte-steering.
The Scotte steering is a version 4.99 with the 100-step-update

The two snails also work without any problems so far, so I don't think it's a problem with missing pellets.
The low-boiler alarm should come when the boiler falls under the minimum temperatre for at least 2 minutes.
When the alarms rises and I look at the temperature it says 60 degrees and that's what it should be. I also can't see the falling temperature in my pellmon-log

Almost exactly !!
It can not really be used for any comparison, still it can be random.

The controller is digital, and I feel a bit like it either works, or it does not work, not so much in between.

Usually the faults are where the variables are, i.e. the wood pellet dosage, gear motors, sensors, and such things.

If the controller does not have a good ground connection, it may be noise from other electronics.

If you think it's the control that does not work, then you will not be sorry to upgrade to V7, a brand new controller.

The development is going fast, and V7 can go directly on Stokercloud.dk.

Prøv lige at tage strømmen fra styring, vent 5 min, og sæt den til igen. Nogen gange virker det, andre gange ikke, men prøv det.

well nothing helped so far.
After 2 hours the boiler-temperature sends 0 degrees to the controller and the error rises. (I also changed the temperature-sensor with no effect..)

I already ordered a new V7-controller at hedestoker.dk
